Guasha Therapy

Guasha involves repeated pressured strokes over lubricated skin with a smooth edge.

Skin is typically lubricated with massage oil and a jade tool or ceramic Chinese soup spoon is used. The smooth edge is placed against the oiled skin surface, pressed down firmly, and then moved down the muscles or along the pathway of the acupuncture meridians with each stroke being about 4–6 inches long.

Guasha therapy effectively moves stagnant blood and energy out of tight muscles to relieve tension and pain.
